MATCH-MPIC/IASS Forecast Page

This is the home page of the MATCH-MPIC/IASS Chemical Weather Forecast System.

This system has ceased operations in January 2015. Data are available for the period 2007 - 2014 through the legacy "custom figures" option, or by contacting Tim Butler at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Germany.

Click on the links below to get to the predicted distributions of important trace gases in the atmosphere, or to obtain more information about the forecasting system.

Try also cwfGIS, an alternative visualization approach employing a map-based online application.

Standard
Forecast
Figures

The forecasts compute the global 3D distributions of a wide array of gases; daily plots are made automatically for the global distributions of key gases at the surface and selected pressure levels, as well as specific to current and upcoming field campaigns (upon request)

Custom
Figures

Create your own custom figures based on the model output.

MATCH-
MPIC

The chemical weather forecasts employ the global 3D chemistry-meteorology model known as MATCH-MPIC (Model of Atmospheric Transport and Chemistry - Max Planck Institute for Chemistry version).
